Dr. Len Garces

Mr. Len Garces has over 35 years of extensive fisheries and aquaculture research and development experience in Southeast Asia (SEA). Currently, he is a Project Technical Consultant with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and a Regional Fisheries Management and Capacity Building Specialist of the USAID Sustainable Fish in Asia Technical Support (SuFiA TS) program. He was Vice President for Technical Services of the Pacific Rim Innovation and Management Exponents, Inc. (PRIMEX). He was a Research Fellow with WorldFish (an International Fisheries Research Institute) to lead and/or support multi-disciplinary research projects on fisheries and coastal management programs. He was a Senior Biologist in conducting Environmental Impact Assessment Studies at the National Power Corporation, Philippines, and a Research Specialist at the Mariano Marcos State University – College of Fisheries. He has published and/or edited over 70 scientific articles, volumes, and books.
