The Coral Triangle encompasses 647 million hectares of land and sea located within the territories of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste. Home to an unparalleled diversity of marine life, this region is often called 'the Nursery of the seas' as it hosts 35% of the world's most resilient reefs and hence is critical in repopulating other reefs in the face of climate change.
